Tips On Writing Poems About Nature

April 18, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 167

Writing poetry is one of the truest, purest things that a person can do. Writing down your thoughts and feelings in the form of words is a very beautiful thing, but it is not a piece of cake. Writing is a very difficult task and can be very tricky. All poems are beautiful, but the ones that are written about nature and feature its glory and beauty are even more magnificent. If you are thinking about writing poems about nature then you really should read a range of poems that other great poets have already written about nature.

Reading other people's work helps you to understand how a poem is written. Do not limit yourself to only reading poems that are about nature. You should read poems from all the different genres that are available and try to understand them. Try to see how the poet has captured their ideas and how they have used words to carve their views into the reader's mind. This will help you develop a more rounded approach to writing poems.

Another thing you can do is rent some nature films from the video store or sit down and watch nature films on television. You can find great material on channels such as the National Geographic, Animal Planet, or Discovery channels. That will help you to learn to enjoy nature and appreciate all the different forms of life on land, in space or even under water. Once you can truly appreciate nature, it will automatically inspire you to write a poem and the words will flow from the heart.

You could also try going out into the wild and writing your ideas down there. You can sit in the backyard of your home and watch all the different things that happen. Alternatively, go to a park, sit in a corner, and admire all the beautiful creatures and plants that exist. All this will bring different ideas to your mind. Write down notes if you want and then you can use these notes for reference later.

The more you get out to see, smell, and experience nature, the more you get to hear and feel nature around you. This will help you to become a better poet. Think of all the different experiences that you have had and find the words that best describe them. Add literary devices to your poem like metaphor or alliteration because this will make your poem about nature more beautiful and in turn, it will gain more appreciation from your readers.

Check out these tips and learn more about how to write a beautiful poem about nature.
