Writing Obituaries, Hiring Obituary Writers

June 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 145

What is an obituary? An obituary is a public notice of someone's death; but much more than that, it is a recognition of their life and contributions to mankind, God, and the world. This notice often generally shares final arrangement plans for the deceased, and any final wishes they wanted expressed concerning charitable donations or departing desires.

Many obituaries are course, cold, and dry. They seem to be written as a chore or obligation. This should not be the case. An obituary is a chance to be personal, and pay a final and lasting degree of respect and honor to a loved one, friend, or relative as they pass into eternity.

Furthermore, an obituary will be lasting record of the individual, forever recorded in the online and physical archives of local newspapers and communities, there for all to see in the distant future. In some cases, obituaries are all that a future relative may have to know about their deceased grandparent, great-grandparent, or even parent.

What if someone is not a good writer, or feels too sad to draft a good obituary for their loved one or friend? The answer is simple. Hire a professional writer, an obituary writer, that specializes in factual, sentimental, and nostalgic writing. Let this professional eulogize the deceased in a loving manner, as a truly loved human being.

Sure, the basics such as the dates of the deceased's lifespan, surviving loved-ones, profession, and final arrangements need to be included, but other more personal elements and glimpses into this lost life are also a very nice touch. An obituary should be done right, and with all due respect.

A quick GOOGLE search or other online search should easily provide a list of potential obituary writers. Simply look at their websites, try and get a feel for them as a person, and contact the best potential matches to pay tribute to your loved one.

Feelings play a major role in this. Follow your gut instincts. This is an important matter. This obituary will be a lasting record of an entire human life, capsulized into a 3 or 4 paragraphs. Make it count.

A good obituary writer will care, and should enjoy the ability he or she shares to pay eternal respect to someone, whether they actually knew them personally or not. Make certain this hired obituary writer is skillful in the craft of assimilating information into a small, concise, and informative story. What is published will last forever and ever. Amen.
