How to Write a Good Article

One of the best ways to promote your website is by learning how to write a good article. Even if you have never written an article before, with a little guidance and help, you will find that writing an article is easier than you think.

The first thing to do is choose a topic that is relevant to your website and then find a good keyword for it. This will be the phrase people will use when they use a search engine to find your article. For example, if you have a marketing website you could write an article on 5 Ways to Market Your Website, subject to that phrase being found when you do a keyword search.

The article should be between 400-600 words.

One of the best ways of going about how to write a good article is to think of an aspect of your topic that can be made into a list. For example, 5 Ways to, 6 Steps to, 10 Easy ways to.

The article itself is composed of 6 parts.

1. Title or Headline

The keyword must be in the title. This will capture the attention of your reader and is used to optimize the article for the search engines and for your readers to find your article more easily.

2. Summary

This is basically a couple of sentences summarising what your article is about. This will tell the readers what they expect from reading your article.

3. The First Paragraph

Here is where you use the keyword again. Make it interesting and appealing or you will find your visitors may not read any further. This is where you introduce the body of your article, for example here are 5 Ways to Market Your Website.

4. Body of Article

Add the keyword here again. Here is where you are going to create your numbered list. Explain each entry with a couple of sentences.

5. Last Paragraph

Add the keyword one last time and close the reader. For example you could say: These are just a few ways of marketing your website online, you may find some work better than others, but why not try them all, you may be surprised how successful these methods will work.

6. Resource Box

Create a resource authors box or about the authors box. This has to be appealing and have a clear call to action. This is where you add the link to your website. Make it clear why the reader should visit your website. For example, you could say: To find more ways to market your website go to www.

As you can see, how to write a good article is not as difficult as you may have first thought. Long as you follow the above guidelines then you will be writing articles quicker than you think.
