If you are a freelance writer, you will know just how hectic things sometimes get in this field. Schedules are almost always too tight to even breathe and articles have to be submitted on time, lest you fail to meet to meet your deadline and end up displeasing your client. In such a scenario, it becomes very essential for you to make full use of your time and write articles as fast as you possibly can. The good news is that you do not have to spend too much time writing your article. You can finish your article or post in just about 15 minutes, if you follow certain rules of writing.

Mentioned below are 6 useful tips to finish a medium-sized article in 15 minutes, without in any way compromising on its quality:

  1. Find a Quiet Place to WorkWhile writing, it is important to find yourself a quiet and peaceful corner, where you can work uninterrupted. Of course, some writers prefer to have a little activity going on in the background. However, working in total silence and solitude invariably increases your speed and productivity.
  2. Write Down Your IdeasWriting an article does not take that much time per se. Writers spend most of their time searching for a subject to write on. In order to save time on this aspect, you should make a note of articles and ideas as and when they strike you. Jot down your ideas in a notebook, mobile phone or mobile device, so that you have a ready list of titles whenever you sit down to write. Also ruminate over your ideas and think of other related subjects. Keep adding to your list, so that you also have a nice line of related article ideas as well.
  3. Keep Editing as You WriteYour PC or laptop word processor helps you rectify spelling, grammatical and syntax errors, on the spot. Hence, you do not need to worry about overlooking a spelling or similar error. While writing your article, therefore, you can concentrate instead on editing your material as you type it out. This way, you will not need to re-read your article after you are done writing it.
  4. Keep Your Article ShortTry and keep your article short and to-the-point, without straying from the main subject. Your article should ideally be about 500 words long. Any longer and your readers will automatically start losing interest in what you have to say. So, keep it short and sweet, while also keeping up your article quality.
  5. Make Use of BulletsUsing bullets and numbers gives you a clear guideline to proceed ahead with your article. It also makes the work look a lot neater and appealing to your reader. Hence, make sure to use bullets and lists as and when possible. Observe the way I myself have used the list aspect in this particular article.
  6. Take a BreakFret not in case you are suddenly hit by the infamous Writer's Block. This is natural and happens to all of us at some point of time or the other. If you should get mentally tired or stuck during the course of writing your article, just take a break and do something else for a while. Take a walk, watch TV or just listen to some soothing music. When you get back to your writing after about a half hour or so, you will be refreshed and all revved up for your next session of writing.

Writing well does not necessarily mean that you need to take a long time over it. Using the above-mentioned tips, you will see for yourself that you can finish your article in 15 minutes, without compromising on its standard.
