Corporate Catering - Ideas for Your Next Office Christmas Party

June 04, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 288

Christmas office parties should always be a venue to know more about the personalities in your company. To set the perfect stage for this, the party should have the right kind of food and ambience. And you need to know some corporate catering suggestions to help you reach this objective.

The best way to have a party that will let everyone loose is to have a buffet or a cocktail setup. This will give people the chance to mingle with each other - even with people that they've never worked with.

Regarding themes, it would be great to have a costume party, since this will add fun to the event. But be careful that this will not be an excuse or a reason for a number of people not to attend the party. You'll most definitely have at least one or two people who'd be a spoiler for costume parties. The ideal thing to do is get the support of the managers and supervisors in wearing costumes. Another way is to offer a nice prize for the wearer of the Best Costume.

The food should suit everyone's tastes. Don't alienate some attendees through food. This is easy for a small party of about 20 to 30 persons. You can just survey individually or by teams regarding any allergies, prohibitions, or just their preferences. But for 40 or more heads, it's definitely a challenge even for those who are experienced in corporate catering. An ideal way to go about this is to offer a dish from each category.

For instance, if you'll be offering a full Christmas dinner buffet, offer a salad or a vegetable soup. These will be fine with both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. If you're thinking people will be too tired of having beef, chicken, and ham for Christmas, try serving lamb, which can be served with mint so you'll still have some flavor of the season. Duck can also be treated like turkey meat, so you can enjoy it with cranberry sauce. Roasted veggies can accompany these main dishes, too.

But if you'd like to have more conversations, go for a purely cocktail party. Have a variety of finger foods like meat canapés, samosas of various fillings, and veggies and crackers with dips. Also provide cheeses and nuts to give a taste of Christmas.

Last but not the least, don't forget to offer a variety of drinks - the more selections, the more enjoyable the party for everyone. If you're in an area that really gets chilly during the holidays, remember to provide coffee or even hot cocoa to warm up the evening and to accompany the desserts.
