Make Online Conferencing a Success With Operator Assisted Events

June 28, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 160

Online meetings have become an essential component of the corporate sector as it empowers organisations to host high profile events in a virtual conference room. Operator assisted virtual events are ideal for meeting involving the top level management, which requires the amount of attention and focus that only a dedicated Event Manager can render. However, keeping the online event interesting and engaging is equally important in order to make it successful. The standard web conferencing tools of any high end conferencing suite can facilitate collaboration during the session but making it captivating and interesting is altogether a different concept.

In order to make an online web conferencing interesting, it is essential that the content should keep the attendees engaged. Moreover, they should have some ready tools like enterprise Instant Messaging (IM) for individual as well as group chats, in order to converse despite the vast geographical distances dividing them. Along with these, they should be able to access information from other sources of information, such as wikis, blogs, discussion on popular forums and microblogging websites to put forward a well thought out point in the online event. An operator assisted virtual event will have all these features as the Event Manager can customise the solution so that resources that were untapped till now could be used. The Event Manager assigned by the Collaboration Service Provider (CSP) would be able to customise the solution to make sure all these sources of information are easily accessible to the users.

Social media integration in a web conferencing suite has emerged as a new concept. It not only allows users to share their ideas with a large audience on an informal platform but also allows them to keep track of the perceptions of the event among the general public. The Event Manager is also able to maintain a record of the relevant Facebook and LinkedIn comments and the tweets on Twitter, in order to facilitate the participants to later assess how their key demographics perceived the event. The Event Manager can even tailor the online meeting solution such that the public that is not a part of the event can cast votes and engage in Q&A sessions.

In order to promote talent to come forward and take up the mantle of the leader, the event can be customised by the Event Manager such that the moderator's duties can be transferred among the group members. With this, the group members will be able to come forward with ideas of their own and will be able to provide solutions to the problems plaguing the organisations, which may even help streamline project management. This will certainly help increase the acceptance rate of virtual events among the participants and help the company find new leaders for the future.
