Before Planning Your Dubai Holidays

October 18, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 169

Dubai is the hottest holiday destination to plan your holidays. Holidays in Dubai are an imminently unforgettable experience. Dubai is truly a spectacular setting to spend your holidays in. The Dubai government is spending massive amounts to tout Dubai as a global holiday destination. Dubai is a global city with everything to offer the best of today's technology and the rich and coloured history of the land. However, as in any tourist city, you need to be aware of what you are up against to avoid being in unpleasant situations or circumstances.

Knowing a little more about the destination you are going to visit is always a good choice. Before you plan to visit Dubai, be aware of the best times to visit Dubai or the peak and off seasons when you might get great discounts on Dubai flights or hotels in Dubai. During May to October, Dubai experiences hot summers with temperatures ranging from 35 degree centigrade to 45 degree centigrade. The best time to visit Dubai is in winter between November to April. Temperature is around 25 degree centigrade in November and lowers further to 20 degree centigrade in December and January. Dubai rarely sees rain and has a bright sun the year throughout. So sunscreen is a must no matter what time you are visiting Dubai.

Another time when you may need to restrict yourself in Dubai is during the month of Ramadan. It is holy month that falls between October to November depending upon the lunar cycle. Muslims fast from 5.00am to 5.00pm during this month. During the time of the fast, shops, hotels are closed and eating, smoking, drinking is not allowed in public places. Breaching this can result in a jail sentence. Everything returns to normal in the evening after 5.00pm ie. at the time of breaking of the fast. So unless you are willing to make concessions avoid going to Dubai in the month of Ramadan.

Travellers in Dubai are not permitted to buy liquor from shops in Dubai. Only resident visa holders having a liquor permit can buy liquor from shops in Dubai. Travellers can buy drinks from hotels, nightclubs and bars. Alternatively they can also purchase liquor from duty free shops at the airport on arrival.

On your holidays in Dubai, you will need to speak to many people in Dubai. The primary language is Arabic, though English is understood and also spoken well. Just remember to speak slowly so that they can understand you.

Hiring a taxi in Dubai can be very heavy on your bank account. Make arrangements for a Dubai car rentalfor the duration of your stay instead.

Visa norms are strict in Dubai and get updated often. So it is best to get acquainted with the latest policy norms than rely on old information.
