Your Telemarketing Voice: How to Influence and Win With Your Voice

Your goal as a telemarketer is to speak in a manner that will highlight your unique personality. You want to be warm and friendly, and to be as expressive as possible to convey the different traits of your personality. You never want to sound monotonous and without emotion. Making sure you are easily heard with the right volume level ensures the listener that want to be heard. You want to be dynamic, with a strong telemarketing voice that shows true sincerity.

Understanding Your Voice

In order to improve your telemarketing voice, you need to understand how sounds are made and how your vocal production is produced. When you breathe in and out, your chest inhales and exhales air. It is when you exhale that the air comes up and meets your vocal organs. As air pressure comes up the throat, through the mouth and nose, it produces sound waves. These sound waves are released through the vibrations that meet the tongue and lips. A variety of tones can be produced by altering the shape of the mouth and the position of the tongue.

Getting Others To Listen to You

Unless the listener takes in what you are saying, the call will be pointless. In order to effectively hold the caller and get your message across, there are various techniques that you can use and practice on. Some of the most common includes voice tones, the manner of your voice and the level at which your voice is raised. Changing your voice tones ensures that you do not sound monotone and boring. Simple things like changing the tone will allow you to portray the message in the manner that you want and also form a personality behind your voice. The manner in which you speak will always need to be relaxed and friendly. Unless you make the person on the other end feel comfortable, you will have immediately created a barrier between you and the caller. No one wants to speak to someone who sounds unhappy and has no real desire to talk to them in the first place. The listener will be much more inclined to listen if they feel you want to be heard. Finally the level of your voice is also important. Talking too loudly or too softly is off-putting for various reasons. Creating the right profile for your voice will help you overcome problems like these and will significantly improve your sales.
