Life is full of uncertainties; anything can happen in a heartbeat. Some have been left devastated by unforeseen occurrences while others have managed to cope with it. How can you cope with uncertainty? It is not enough when we approach fortune tellers to predict the future, the more they predict the more unforeseen occurrences before each and every one of us. So my friend, no one is free from uncertainty.

It might interest you to know that there are effective ways to cope with uncertainty. If you are well learned about the facts of life, then you can adapt and make necessary changes when the uncertainty occurs while remaining happy and sound.

Tips for coping with uncertainty

Knowing that anything can happen in a heartbeat should move you to prepare and be ready when unforeseen occurrences strikes. This will better equip you on how to cope with stress and anxiety that results from uncertainty. Making plans for the future will go a long way in helping you cope with uncertainty.

For example, you can plan for the possibilities of moving from your environment. Then take a step by saving money for such possibility. How can this help you cope with uncertainty? I know a man who received a letter that he has been transferred to work in a distant city. This took him unaware; as a result, it was difficult for him to cope with the situation. But as someone who already thought of such possibilities can easily cope because you have prepared you mind already. This will reduce stress and anxiety.Be confident on your coping and adapting skills. Give yourself the impression that you can handle the uncertainty that comes your way no matter how scary it is. I guess this will make it a little less scary when it does occur.

Dealing with stress resulting from uncertainty

When trying to cope with uncertainty, stress is what you will find difficult to overcome. Body stress affects blood pressure, muscle tension, breathing rate, cholesterol level and other organs of the body. This is why you need to learn how to cope with uncertainty in order to reduce stress. There are some stress reduction techniques you can incorporate. Engaging in stress reduction techniques daily will help you cope with body stress.

When unforeseen occurrences occur, it is appropriate that you be mindful. If you are too busy trying to figure how tomorrow will be it can add to your mental distress. So instead of dwelling on the effects of the present situation, appreciate the beauty of the moment. Meditation is one way to become more mindful. Focus your mind on what is good and not what is bad. Do something that interests you, like writing, relaxing, reading and relating with loved ones. This will help to cope with uncertainty.

Lastly, remember that no one can live a controllable and predictable life, if there is any, it just an illusion. Plan for the uncertainty and protect yourself from any future danger. Have it in mind that the uncertainty will definitely occur. The most important thing is how to cope with it.
