Root Chakra - The Root Of All The Solutions

January 22, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 116

"Chakra" is a popular word but it wouldn't be wrong to say that only a handful of people are thorough with its meaning and working. In simple words, chakras are defined as the electricity in an appliance where the appliance is the body of a person. Just like electrons and protons are needed to make a machine work, the energy emitted from each of the chakras in human body is essential for human beings to survive and function properly.

The root chakra is first of the seven chakras of the body. As the name suggests, it is associated with the base of a man, both physically and mentally. In Sanskrit language, it is referred to as "Muladhara," which means "seat of the root." Located at the very foundation of the spine in the area of perineum, it marks the commencement of all the other chakras. This chakra allows a person to connect with the energies of the earth. As the heaviest and densest of all the chakras, it deals with passion and survival. This energy perpetuates and maintains our niche as one of our genus. Relating primarily to the unconscious, primal aspects of our being, the root chakra nurtures energy into the adrenal gland. The adrenal gland stimulates the production of hormones in stressful situations. The "flight or fight response" is a consequence of adrenaline coursing through the bloodstream when one becomes excited or afraid.

When the chakra is open and strong, it aids a person with positive thoughts and feelings of personal worth. Visually, the root chakra is represented by the color red. It is very important for the chakra to spin smoothly and in the correct direction - enabling the opening of the chakra. A healthy chakra enables a person to pull himself out of financial and emotional misery. It is associated with making a person feel grounded and secure. Over the course of time, the root chakra sometimes gets blocked, which leads to a grave imbalance in the proper functioning of a human being. The stagnant or weak state of the chakra results in low self-esteem, feelings of helplessness and unworthiness, unhappiness, and ultimately depression. To prevent these outcomes and set the chakra back in the tune, chakra healing and chakra meditation are recommended.

Since this chakra is associated with color red and the element earth, red-colored food products such as apple, beets and spices, as well as, vegetables from the ground such as potatoes and carrots also prove to be beneficial in healing of the same.

Having a proper and balanced root chakra is an indispensable part of a healthy and content life. In view of the fact that the chakras have a tendency to be blocked or sluggish, several techniques to clear the way could be undertaken. With a poorly-functioning root chakra, one might lag behind other people of his field, failing to complete his or her given tasks and finally, putting himself or herself in the way of harm.

A balanced root chakra is the key to a happy life.
