Some Office Ice Breaker Games For Your Team

April 12, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 388

Team building exercises are very important to maintain the office harmony. Many offices undertake different team building activities to get their employees to know each other and understand the way the other persons in their team work.

These team building ideas are designed to increase the efficiency of the team. Office Icebreaker games are becoming more and more popular and here are some office ice breaker games for your team:

Build up something: This is a very popular office icebreaker game and can be organised both inside and outside the office. Divide the employees in four or five teams. Each team can consist of no more than six people. Ask them to build something interesting and creative from the things in their pocket or purse.

Ask away: This is an office icebreaker game if you have some new joining in the office. Divide the office in two teams (one with new employees and other with old employees). Ask the old team questions about new employees and ask them to identify the person you are talking about. This makes it easier and more fun to get to know about each other. You can ask questions about talent, education, habits etc.

Chinese whispers: It is an old and traditional game but great for building a team. Let people sit in groups, whisper one interesting and long sentence in to one person's ear, and ask them to whisper the same sentence to person sitting next to them. Have them announce the word aloud at the end. The team, which gets the sentence right, is the winner.

The tag: Another popular game that can be played inside or outside the office. Distribute different heart shaped or box shaped cards to the entire staff. They have to pin up the cards on their shirts. Ask them to mingle among each other and ask questions to one another, however the answer can only be yes and if the person says 'no' or gives any other answer he or she will have to fortify the card. The person who collects maximum number of cards is the winner.

Office icebreaker games are fun activities and therefore don't be too stringent with the rules. Let the staff interact in informal environment so that they do not see it as a stress and can get back to work next day with a refreshed and relaxed mind. Let them express themselves without worrying about reports, submission and deadlines.
