Mexico City - Were The Mayans Right For the Wrong Reasons, Big Volcano

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 177

Darn that Mayan Calendar anyway! Why doesn't someone just go grab that old stone and add another 30,000 years to it? Surely we have the technology to fuse some more rocks together with a high powered directed energy device, or manufacturing laser - don't we? Well, 2012 is the year for the renewal, which or beginning of a new age as per the handed down knowledge of the ancient Mayans. What did they know, and was their knowledge global or regional?

Well, if you are living in Mexico City right now, perhaps you are shaking in your shoes, perhaps literally real soon. Why you ask. Well, there was a rather troubling article recently in Terra Daily Online News titled; "Mexico volcano spouts large column of ash and steam" published on April 18, 2012 which stated that;

"Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano, outside the Mexican capital, spouted a large column of ash and steam Wednesday but officials did not raise alert levels or start evacuations; "We had an increase in activity... we saw the emission of a large column of water vapor with significant amounts of ash which reached 1.5 to two kilometers (0.9 to 1.2 miles) high."

So, what's the problem you ask? Well, the challenge here is that Mexico City sits within a large ancient volcano caldera, and this pre-eruption warning came not only one two months before Mexico's 2012 Presidential elections, but it is happening only 35 miles away from Mexico's Capital. Worse, as we approach the Atlantic Tropical Hurricane season, the weather patterns and prevailing winds shift somewhat, and this pre-eruption warning location is South East of the City.

If the natural weather shifts occur on-time, they just could co-inside with the eruption of a volcano outside of town. Even if the larger caldera is not at risk of opening up, those ask clouds could cause havoc and could potentially cause millions of people to flee the area. Remember there are 25 million people living in that city one of the largest cities on the planet. Where will they all go? The US can't take them all.

What if a volcanic eruption also produces a large Earthquake, this is typical, and Mexico City is known for both seismic and volcanic activity. Scared yet? As people in the US are closely watching the elections for Mexico's new President in 2012, and busy considering the reality of the conspiracy theories surrounding the Mayan Calendar, perhaps it might make sense to monitor the situation on the ground there, or rather under it? Please consider all this and think on it - 2012 could be a big year for that very big city.
