Flaxseed Oil Benefits

My youngest sister has recently finished her nursing degree and has become an expert in all things to do with health. Although we all call her "the professor" and we get bored of her preaching, there is no doubt that she has learned a lot over the last 4 years. Attitudes to general health have changed greatly since I was a child. Gone are the days of frying in full fat lard, especially deep frying, and in are healthy oils, vitamins and roughage. Education has given us all the information we need to ensure we get everything we need from our diet to stay healthy. Even young children know the difference between a good and bad diet. Daily supplements are now very normal for a wide variety of people and these are no longer just available from traditional chemist shops. Many people now buy them regularly along with their normal shopping.

One of the latest supplements to be widely published is Flaxseed oil. This oil is high in Omega oil which is well known to be needed in our diet for everyday development. Fish would be the most common natural provider of these oils but many people eat little or no fish so supplements are a great way to substitute this. People of all ages can benefit from flaxseed oil, it is high in folic acid which is well known to be essential for women during pregnancy

There are also many more general benefits which have been shown to come from Flaxseed oil. It is believed to be great for many other things including:-

Arthritis Period pains Skin irritations Heart health Osteoporosis and bone strength Asthma Constipation Improves better and healthier hair and skin

Many of us older people will remember being made to take cod liver oil by our mother. I will never forget its taste and always swore I would never put my own children through it. These days there are tasteless tablets or capsules which makes it much easier to get the goodness we need. I still laugh when I see Garlic tablets with tasteless written on the bottle.

Flaxseed oil producers say that as the oil is high in lignin's it is known to improve the health of the heart and reduce cholesterol levels and I have heard people of a certain age who swear that it improves their joints and can strengthen the bones. So If you are want an easy way to improve your health and keep up you immune system you should try taking flaxseed oil daily.
