Success Comes From Improving Your Techniques

April 20, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 194

While success means different things to different people, most people state that being successful is important to them. For more than three decades, I have had people attend my seminars, seeking some sort of magic formula or elixir that would assure their success. Unfortunately, there is no mysterious secret! Success is derived from training, learning, knowledge, effort, and applying those things one learns to some sort of regular, ongoing systematic approach. Jim Rohn summed this up perfectly, "Success is neither magical nor mysterious. Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying basic fundamentals."

1. To accomplish anything of consequence, first one must consider their goals and their motivations. Why is accomplishing this so significant to them? What does it mean to them personally, professionally, and as an individual? Once a significant purpose is focused on, an individual must then pursue the ways to accomplish. What needs to be learned? What's the best way to learn it? Who is the best teacher, or what approach might work best for you? Are you certain it's important to you? However all the training and learning in the world goes for naught if one does not utilize these skills in a systematic, organized and regular manner. The greatest sports stars, for example, achieve their greatness because they master a technique and consistently apply it. A top professionally golfer achieves his level of success within the game because he develops and uses the same swing, with the same fundamentals, each and every time. His approach is always the same, and his mindset is always that he will be successful. Positive attitude is a mandatory and essential part of being successful. Compare that to the weekend duffer!

2. What are the components of learning the fundamentals? While much of the specifics depends on the field or the endeavor, certain aspects related to being successful are always the same. For example, it always begins with having the right attitude and true self- confidence, consistently believing that you can achieve your goals. Next, there must be important (to the individual) goals that one wants to achieve. However, simply having those will rarely make someone successful. Actual success comes from mastering the skills needed. It means studying, practicing, and consistently doing the same correct technique and steps over and over again. These fundamentals are the building blocks for success. It requires consistent effort, commitment and proper execution. It also requires true perseverance

There is no such thing as deserving success. It is something that comes by itself as a result of pursuing important goals, and learning and mastering whatever fundamentals are needed.
