Hate Your Job? 5 Tips on Creating Opportunities and Satisfying Your Desire for a Passionate Career

April 13, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 132

Self Reflection

Silence your mind. Take some time to unplug from your busy world. The only way of finding your genuine purpose in terms of career comes from looking inward. Go back to basics. What does this mean? It means to practice the following:

  • Meditate for at least 30-45 minutes a day - focus on your breathing
  • Ask yourself questions about what makes you happy
  • Write down your answers
  • Exercise for at least 30-60 minutes a day
  • Clean up your diet
  • Count your blessings

If you skip this step, you will probably never find your path. It is through silence that your heart speaks to you, and if you don't take the time to listen, you'll miss its grandest messages. Many people only seek out the hottest business opportunities without actually taking the time to look within and see if it is a right fit for them.

Trust Your Instinct

Who cares what anyone else thinks about your ideas on what you feel may be the right move for you. Don't be dissuaded because your friend, mother, cousin, brother or uncle says your idea is not realistic or practical. It is passion, vitality and vigor that drives success - especially in unusual ventures.

Take note of the following people that boldly listened to their heart despite what others said:

  • Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team
  • Winston Churchill lost every single election until he became Prime Minister
  • Vince Lombardi was told that he didn't know anything about football and that he lacked motivation

Listen to your heart! If you want something bad enough, you will make it work!

Map Out a Clear Action Plan

Passion, enthusiasm, self-knowledge and practical knowledge are not enough. Deliberate action and faith that those actions will produce your desired results over time are the next ingredients that will lead you to your success. In order to take action, you need a strategy, a timeline, and most importantly a mentor that can help guide your actions. Having a mentor will not only save you time, but will boost your courage and confidence because if they were able to achieve the level of success that you aspire, then you know you can too.

Celebrate Your Victories

Victories create confidence and enthusiasm. Confidence and enthusiasm smothers all negative emotions as you become clear about who you are becoming. As you progress towards the life of your dreams, don't forget to SMILE, LAUGH and GIVE THANKS! It is through celebration that you will solidify the foundation that you have built.

Reevaluate, Create Your Next Goal, and Commit

Commit to taking consistent action for the next year. This means putting on blinders and focusing on the actions that you need to take in order to manifest the success that you originally envisioned when you began your journey.

If you follow your heart, committing to taking the necessary actions should not be that difficult because at this point, what you are doing is not work, but your life purpose!

Are you ready to begin your journey towards creating the life of your dreams? If so read the resource box below and follow the instructions there.
