Consulting skills training teaches individuals what tools are a good choice and the appropriate way to use them. A facilitator must also be able to keep the discussion natural with everyone being able to speak comfortably. This sometimes entails paraphrasing or using another tactic to provide clarification to those who have difficulty with specific jargon. A sheet of paper is a great resource for jotting down commonly used technical oriented words or acronyms. It allows individuals to review the meaning as the term is thrown out and eliminates the need to take time defining words. Thoughts should be organized in a list as the session progresses to make things easier on the group as a whole.

It is also a great way for executives to learn how to work together during a strategic session or when discussing items with managers below them. Every individual needs a refresher course to fine tune their skills and learn new methods for increased productivity.
