Delightful Family Holidays in Dorset

Nothe Fort

If you stay at the luxurious Dorset holiday cottages, it will be easy for you to go to Nothe Fort. This fort dates back to the 1800s and it was said to be built between 1860 and 1872. You will find the Nothe Fort right at the entrance of Weymouth Harbour. It gives you a delightful sweeping view of the surrounding areas which also includes the Jurassic Coast. There are three levels in the fort and an interesting maze of underground passages. You will also see many interesting displays here at Nothe Fort. Among them are the many massive guns displayed at the fort. There are also some programs that you can watch which feature the history of the fort. You can watch it at the cinema areas. The Nothe Fort is one of the biggest crowd-drawers in Dorset so it would be a good idea to plan a trip to the fort especially when you are with your family on your holidays in Dorset.

Christchurch Priory Church

The Christchurch Priory Church is a great place to go and is one of the must-visit sites during your holidays in Dorset together with your whole family. The church is just within close distance to your Dorset holiday cottages. The Church is said to date back to 800 A.D. but its current building was constructed in 1094 and used as a place for prayer and pilgrimage. You will be awed during your visit to this church. There is also a museum called the St. Michael's Loft which was built in the 15th century. Here you will see many interesting items on display. The church is a good place to visit after you have visited all the other major attractions before heading back to your Dorset holiday cottages.

Be Amazed at Adventure Wonderland

Adventure Wonderland is an interesting theme park that is a great place to go together with your family. Here at Adventure Wonderland is Be Amazed. It is the third largest maze in the whole UK and is one of the greatest attractions of Dorset. The maze has 5200 bushes and is a total of 1.75 miles. This will not only exercise your feet but your mind as well. There are many clues in the maze that you have to guess in order to get out of it. At the end of this adventure, you can return to the comforts of your luxurious holiday cottages.
