How to Handle the CBSE Syllabus for the CBSE Board Exams - 3 Tips

January 15, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 170

If you are a student preparing for the CBSE Board Exams, you must have realized that it is necessary to utilize all the resources you can, while trying to complete the CBSE exam syllabus. The CBSE syllabus is quite vast and that is why many students attend special coaching classes apart from their regular school classes. This is understandable as the competition for many higher degrees, like medical and engineering courses, is quite fierce. Students need to get the best marks possible to ensure that they are able to get admission into the course of their choice.

That's why we will list a few tips here to help you handle the vast syllabus for the CBSE exam. These tips are not the only ones you can apply, but they will certainly be useful for you:

Make notes: While preparing for the CBSE Board Exams, make sure that you prepare a lot of notes for each chapter you finish studying. You should do this from the start of the academic year itself. You might think that notes are a waste of time, as you will always have your textbooks to fall back on. But many students find that when they set out to revise the concepts they learnt earlier, it gets a bit tiresome to plough through the whole book. It is more convenient to revise from notes, and as long as you have written down important formulae and definitions, they can be as effective as studying the whole textbook again.

Practice question papers: A good way of identifying the most important concepts and ideas of the CBSE syllabus is to practice solving question papers of previous years, as well the sample papers brought out by the CBSE and publishers of reference books. Obviously, very frequently asked concepts and ideas are more important than others. This also ensures that you become fully aware of the many different ways in which a particular idea or formulae can be used to form a question.

Study 'practically': When studying with the goal of scoring your best in your final CBSE exam, you should use practical demonstrations and visual media, like diagrams, animations, video lessons, as much as you can. Many experts have found that students learn concepts better with the help of visual reinforcement. They are also able to retain the concepts for a longer time. You can ask your teachers to give as many practical demonstrations as they can. There are now many educational TV channels and websites which provide you such visual learning resources; you can take the benefit of these while studying the CBSE syllabus. Ideally, you should try to use this method of visual reinforcement within two days of your learning a particular idea for maximum results.
