Can I Go to Hell for Not Trusting God?

Can I go to hell for not trusting God? I have been a Christian for better than 30 years and I still don't trust God...sometimes. I believe it is natural for us as Christians to not trust God. It just comes with the territory of being who we are and having a sin nature in us. Many Christians reading these words may differ with me here on the surface, but most can't deny it when faced with the pressure of trusting God, do or die. Why this is so, I can't understand, but have come to just accept it.

Just when you have God figured out, He pulls one on you and you are yet again, behind the proverbial eight ball. I believe this is the way God wants it and so I believe we won't go to hell for not trusting Him in matters of life. The walk as a child of God is not just a day to day walk, it is moment by moment. In every situation, we must be in a spiritual oneness with the Spirit of God, every decision and every thought hindering on the spirits guidance. This takes a lifetime to work out, as is our salvation, "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.." Philippians 2:12

There are many Christians who are guilt ridden about not being able to trust God in all things and they look at their relationship with Him as failure and defeat when they have not been able to trust Him on something. This is compounded with their inability to reconcile within the constant battle that rages. Back and forth they go about whether He is accepting them or not; are they good enough, why do I sin and keep sinning, and the other condemning thoughts that make their way into their mind. The struggle to get a grip, or understanding on something that actually works and offers peace to their spirit is a day to day battle. At times, the thoughts come into their mind that says, is this worth going through? Other thoughts that say, how could this be so difficult, or why is it so hard to make sense of when God wants me to know Him and love Him?

If your thoughts cover these areas, you need to know that you are not alone. When you hear of so many people walking away from their faith, this is the reason. They have given up on trying to figure out God. My friend, I am right there with you, as I live with theses thoughts as well, but I want you to know something. God doesn't want us to try and figure Him out. Besides, who can even do that anyway? "For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." 1 Cor 2:11. We are called to walk with Him daily and trust Him at His word. In the same way, we can't know the person we want to marry and spend the rest of our lives with by seeing them once or twice a week. We love them so much, we want to spending every waking moment with them and so it is with God. To trust Him, is to know Him.
