The Twelfth Insight: The Hour of Decision by James Redfield

James Redfield is one of our current important spiritual teachers. In this novel, he takes the nine prophecies from The Celestine Prophecy to another level. As in his previous works, the words combine with an underlying strength as they reveal a new path that we know we must take.

There are three important ideas in relation to this path:

1) Expect Synchronicity

This is not new, but an idea we might forget as we get busy in our hectic lives. Expect coincidences that are something more. Expect life to be the unexpected. Be open to whatever crosses your path and be aware of the significance of anything new.

2) Stay Centered in the Truth of What You are Doing

Having faith in who we are and what we do is not easy. Yet we are reminded that it is time to do both. Know our truth and believe in it. Simple? It should be, and we can make that happen. Do it now.

3) Stay in the Flow, or in Alignment

Again, this is not a new idea, but a significant one. We must go with the energy flow of life. We know when our activities are rewarded and when they are stymied. Our challenge is to accept and do those that work and reject those that don't.

Redfield discusses the importance of bridging our differences by releasing our fear of other religions and accepting that each religion has a part in this change. We can learn something from each religion and incorporate the good ideas other spiritual paths have to offer.

He reminds us that being spiritual is more than just believing in some deity; it is the discovery of different dimensions of life. He helps us do this. As his subtitle suggests, "The Hour of Decision:" "Each of us must make decisions. Will we embrace this deeper spirituality or go into fear and foreboding?"
