How to Get Clients: 9 Simple Tips to Jump Start Your Passion Into Profits

February 26, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 155

Getting clients and profits from your passion sometimes requires keeping it simple.

How to get clients from that hobby - and get paid, requires keeping things as simple as you possibly can. Keeping things simple is what will cut down on the bright shiny object syndrome that causes overwhelm and in most cases, save you a lot of money in the long run.

So, here are a few lessons to get you on how to get clients when turning your passion into profits.

Tip 1: - Schedule everything:

It's okay to have visions, goals and dreams of your new business venture, but if you don't break that lovely dream down into small doable actions with a definite date of when you can realistically get them done, it'll always only be that nice dream of a life that you wish you'll have one day.

Tip 2 - Systems work:

To get the most out of whatever it is you're working on, create a system, work it like gangbusters and then go back and work it again. Productivity, success or whatever you want to call it does not come from constantly trying out new ninja moves, but sticking to the ones that have always worked for you, and multiplying them to get bigger results in less time. (boring but super effective)

Tip 3 - Failure is always an option:

Some things just need to die to allow you move on to something bigger or better. Admitting failure doesn't make you a quitter. Sometimes, things just don't work out for what ever reason - and that's okay. Holding on to things and situations longer than you need to, takes more time and energy than learning to let go. Recognize when it's time to let go, and move on.

The faster you let go of what's stopping you from starting that business, the quicker you'll begin to see growth and opportunities arising in your new business.

Tip 4 - Pick your claim and stake your reputation on it:

You can't be all things to all people. Believe in something and take a stand. Stop worrying about whether people will like you. It's not your job for people to like you, it's your job to get results for the people that pay you; and trust me, once you're getting results, people will like you whether you want them to or not (human beings are fickle like that)

Tip 5 - Don't fight battles you weren't meant to:

Never tell yourself you're not supposed to feel a certain way. If you want to cry and rant, go ahead and cry dammit! And once you're done, pick yourself up and keep fighting the battle you were really meant to fight - building the life you truly want.

Tip 6 - You can't control everything:

Sometimes, you just need blind faith mingled with moxie to get there. When you've done all you can possibly do, it's time to let go and believe that it'll come together - that's just the law of life.

Tip 7 - Stick to what you do best:

You can't be Gemma's fitness solutions and Gem's Mobile hairdressing salon at the same time. You're not good at everything and that's okay. Pick your business ditch to die in, when it comes to the services you offer. I would rather pay a premium for a kick ass personal trainer with ass cheeks that can crack a walnut, than get cheap sessions from my part time hairdresser / fitness trainer.

Tip 8 - Learn to say no:

You don't want every business that comes you way, otherwise you'll keep attracting douche bags that keep testing your boundaries and making you regret going into business. Know who your ideal clients are, focus on attracting those that meet your standards and criteria, and then pass on the rest. There's nothing worse than working with clients that make your heart sink every time you get an email or phone call from them.

Tip 9 - You are your first client each day:

Learn to give yourself what you need to get going. Update that blog, send out the newsletter, get that workout done, get the hair, nails and clothing on point. Take care of yourself and give yourself the best of you. Avoid letting your business run you, pay yourself first. You'll get to the others soon enough.

Your To-Do List:

1. Make a list. It doesn't have to be anything big. Keep it to 3 - 5 tips you want to start with, and then go ahead and commit. The journey on how to get clients when transitioning from hobby to business is mostly about consistency and always taking action. So which tip will you implement now?

What if you just can't get those clients through the door? It can be trying to get clients consistently into your small business if you do not know what you really need to get the job done.

if you want to really start getting more clients and customers in your business, you'll need to learn a few strategies that work amazingly well. These methods are simple to pick up and it doesn't take much practice, you can read how to do it in my free report here: Grow your Business
