Where in the World to Go Snowboarding

March 01, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 155

Snowboarding is a highly skilled and impressive sport to master. Once people do, it becomes a big part of their life and the hobby takes many people abroad. They will use their holidays to take part in this fun sport and will discover some amazing places to visit all around the world.

Snowboarding requires a special board and boots which are designed to suit this purpose. The modern sport that we know of today began in 1965. It was thought up and created by an engineer in Michigan. Skiing was the main snow sport in previous years, and in 1985, a very small percent of parks in the USA and even smaller numbers in Europe, allowed boarders to participate in the same place as skiers. Today things have totally changed and 97% of all ski areas in the North America and Europe will allow both to take place. This means if you are looking for somewhere to travel to, you will be spoilt for choice.

According to many people, one of the best places to go boarding is Tignes in France which has the longest season in Europe. People who visit here tend to return again because they can always find new places that they have not gone down. There is a vast range of off-piste slopes for people who are confident. The big motorway blue runs are perfect for beginners and people who want to practice before moving up. As well as great slopes for in the day, the après-ski nightlife is said to be great. They are very relaxed about dress code, which is what most people will prefer when surrounded by snow.

Some of the best places to snowboard in the USA are located in the state of Utah. The Canyons Resort is the first resort to have allowed snowboarding to be taken place in a park along with skiing. It consists of a 16 acre area and has a range of natural half pipes. Another popular choice in Utah is the Park City Mountain Resort which hosted the Winter Olympic Games in 2002, so it must be good! It is only just over half an hour from Salt Lake City airport so once you have arrived you do not have to waste much time in getting settled for your boarding adventure. It has an average snowfall of 360 inches so you will be able to shred lots of powder boarding here.

Wherever you travel to you are sure to enjoy yourself. Being able to make a holiday by combining your love for a sport combined with the benefits of relaxation, will be the perfect match. You are sure to have a holiday you will not forget.
