Don't Be So Afraid - Written to Religious Folks!

April 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 96

Certain words and phrases like "magic, mystical, meditation, the stars, evoluation, karate (due to the meditation involved), yoga (same reason as karate) -- are taboo to certain Christians -- and yet, we claim to love God's Word. Joshua 1:8 states, "meditate on the law, day and night." To meditate on something is simply to think upon it. There's nothing wrong with thinking on the moves of karate or yoga. These group of words and other words are not words to fear, but are words relating to the universe, the heavens and the earth -- that which God created. We have been so brain washed into thinking that certain words are "bad" and we should abstain from them and anything that has to do with them.

Those that have latched onto fear, like myself at one time -- its easier to fear something than it is to study and learn about something. "Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth," 2 Tim. 2:15. Those that have been "damaged," have no fear -- there is Hope for us all. We can get educated! I'm like the average "Joe" that went to high school, graduated with a good average, but yet I lacked any knowledge about life itself. I was totally "in the dark" about so many things -- I didn't understand that everything is connected; that all the subjects in school are so important to understanding God's world.

In Genesis 2:25, Adam and Eve "were both naked,...and were not ashamed." Yet, in Genesis 3:7, "And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons." Jump down to verse 10 where it says that because he was naked; he hid himself. You only hid yourself if you are ashamed. How quickly things can change -- from not ashamed to ashamed, from good to bad.

With that said, let's see how quickly we can change things for ourselves, simply by thinking a new way about certain things. Let's stretch our minds; let's get educated on the ways of God - His laws - the way He set things up for us from the beginning. This is why Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life, and if any man follow Me, he shall be saved." Jesus' way, Jesus' principles of life. He was trying to show us the Way. Jesus said, "Follow Me." He was talking about following His Way of doing things, such as feeding the multitude, healing the sick, and raising the dead.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." Let's get a bigger vision of Our God. Let's get more meaning from Life, from The Word - than just knowing the physical events, the physical Jesus -- to "live life and live it more abundantly" we must have a spiritual life. Everybody has one because we are not our bodies, we are spirits that live in a body. Spirituality is a part of every one's life; and until you realize it - you have not entered into possession of all God's powers.

A person can change the direction of their life if they will only choose a new way of thinking about their life. Doing the same thing gets you the same results. So all those things you think you are afraid of -- as far as spiritual things - take a second look, study the origin so you can understand them. Then decide if you agree or disagree -- but don't be so afraid of them; they won't hurt you if you are not engaging in them. And the choice is always yours.

This article was written to help those that have so many fears in their life. You know who you are. For some reason or another, I really don't now why, but I had so many fears -- I was afraid of everything. Slowly but surely, I am dealing with them, one by one and realizing there was "nothing to fear but fear itself."

I know, you want to know some of those things I fear -- well, okay--

I was afraid of the dark, afraid of the bright light, afraid of birds (later I found out that my mother had a fear of birds), afraid of snakes, rats, any kind of rodant, or animal that had claw feet -- except for dogs and cats of course. I was afraid of heights - and depths, deep water, fear of the unknown, and the list goes on. I am a work in progress.

Fear is a tactic to keep you down and out. Don't let the fear of anything keep you from doing what you know God has called you to do -- take a leap of faith and step out into the unknown, if that's what it takes -- just don't be afraid.
