Love Yourself and Move Forward

February 25, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 128

Bottom line, the more confident you are, the more you can look inside and accept EVERYTHING about yourself, the happier you will be.

I have my moments, don't get me wrong. I put a ton of pressure on myself. Where does this pressure come from?? I would say it's self inflicted. All the important influences that shaped me as a child, parents, teachers (well, I have had some psycho teachers, don't get me wrong) other family members, they all accepted me, and paid me my fair share of compliments. I never felt inadequate, never not pretty/smart enough. I would have to say it comes from me. Maybe not in looks (God gives you the face, it's up to you to take care of it) but in other areas. I always have to say the right thing, I always have to come across exactly right on Facebook, email, text messages. I rarely allow myself to have a weak moment. I have gotten better, though. I have come to realize weak moments make you human, relatable.

In order to love and accept ourselves, we must also learn to fully love and accept others. Now, I have a very strong personality. Which is a funny thing, being that I used to think I was the most easygoing person on the face of the planet. Weather I am just older now, weather it's a control issue, or weather it's merely years of untreated ADD, I have a strong personality, and I find it hard to bite my tongue ESPECIALLY when I think behavior is unjust or unfair, towards myself and others. I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing, but it does need to be monitored. You have to know when the right time is to bring something up, and when you should leave it alone.

As soon as you learn to love and care for yourself, your attitude changes in every aspect of your life. You are not living for someone else, you are living for you. You're not constantly trying to gain validation from someone else, you are validating you, by merely being you! You're doing what you love in life, not to just gain success or attention from your family and friends, whom you never felt validation from. You're doing it for you because that is your God given right to do what you love. You free yourself up to do things, not arrogantly but confidently. And that is indeed TRUE SUCCESS.
