The Internet Radio Tuner: How Much Should You Pay?

January 31, 2011 | Comments: 0 | Views: 161

Ten years ago it was digital HD radio, two years ago it was satellite radio, now it's the internet radio tuner that is making waves in the tech industry. You see satellite radio is great and has no commercials, but they charge a monthly fee if you want to use their service. Well with an internet radio tuner you get all your favorite stations, but it doesn't cost you a dime after the initial purchase price. It offers the quality and the constant music that many consumers crave, but doesn't have the hefty recurring price tag that comes with satellite.

So the question is: how much should you pay? Most internet radio tuners cost between one hundred fifty and three hundred dollars. You can find a very nice one for a couple hundred dollars and a little bit of good consumer research. Reading customer reviews and searching the internet for a price is the best way to save money on any item; especially something technology related like a radio. There are hundreds of options to choose from, but reading through reviews and looking around will help you narrow down the field rather quickly, and you may be surprised to find out that just because an item is more expensive doesn't necessarily mean that the item is of better quality. If you are spending over three hundred dollars on an internet radio tuner; you are spending far too much. The best tuners for your money are in the two hundred to two hundred and fifty dollar range.
