RSS Feeds: What They Are And How Your Websites Benefit From Them

December 25, 2011 | Comments: 0 | Views: 167

Since webmasters know that content is the life and blood of websites, it used to happen that content gathering consisted of visiting relevant websites to see what they talked about, what they showed and what they could read that could be brought back to their own sites, to beef up their own information to offer their visitors, thus creating the true role of a website, which is to give timely, relevant information to their visitors. These channels or avenues of information, were time consuming to get, and a method of automation for distributing this information came to life and is now known as RSS feeds. What they are and how they benefit your sites is to follow.

RSS feeds reverse the information gathering in such a way that the content actually is delivered to your websites automatically, timely and freely, giving your websites continuous flow of frequent, relevant information about the products or programs that your readers are after. RSS is what is known as "really simple syndication" which is now the standard format for automatic publishing of information in the form of text. There is no need now to keep checking this and that website for information because now all targeted information can be delivered to your website automatically, once you subscribe to these RSS feeds which are many about all sorts of issues on the internet.

Not just text, but also audio, video, news bulletins, event's headlines, all these feeds can now be channelled to your website by the RSS feeds. Including blog posts, so that you don't need to keep checking websites out for content that you like to have in your sites. What you will need though is software which reads the feeds but first you need to subscribe to them. This software is known as RSS reader and it is usually web based, although they can be mobile configured too.

Once you subscribe to the RSS reader websites and indicate the niche content you are seeking, the RSS readers find and channel this content automatically to your sites totally free, giving your sites the freshness and stickiness that make your site rank higher in the search engines. This process work so well that your readers stay longer in your website and keep coming back for more relevant information. And as you know, the more visitors you have the more chances you have of making sales or gain more subscribers.

This process saves you so much time and it is so convenient to implement, that it is a must have in place if you want your website to be continually fresh, informative and have the most relevant content possible. And remember that the number of sites giving this kind of RSS feeds keeps growing and counts big names in the search engines, sites ranked highly by the search engines too.

There are even RSS blogs where you can find about varieties of RSS readers providing all sorts of benefits to your websites, some of which are already mentioned. But one of the best benefits that this addition of fresh content added to your sites, is the fact that there is hardly any work involved; once you set up the RSS feeds on the number of topics you are interested in, you are then receiving relevant, continuous fresh content that will make sure your visitors are very satisfied and wanting to come back for more again and again.

Enquire in the main search engines about RSS feed sites and you'll get a lot of good sites providing this fantastic service that you need to take advantage of, if you want to make your sites more professional, more sticky more valuable to your visitors and therefore gain extra revenue and at the same time increasing your list of subscribers considerably.
