Progressing Towards a Better Tomorrow

February 22, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 116

I love sitting in the lap of nature when I get a chance to do so. I don't miss a single opportunity to go to my village and enjoy the lush green fields with a bowl of home cooked cereals. And I often wonder how much of hard work must have gone into cultivating this land for a good yield. The life of a farmer fully depends on the yield of the crop he gets at the end of the season. It is the sweat, the faith and the determination which helps the farmers to keep slogging day and night, irrespective of the weather.

There is a lot of progress seen in the methods of farming adopted by the farmers over the years. The science and technology has transformed the work from manual to mechanical, and now automated machines have taken over the charge. The farmers are becoming more aware about the latest techniques and methods which can improve the productivity and give them a better yield. The agriculture universities and centers at different places are doing their best to keep the farmers aware with the latest innovations and developments in this field. In fact many research centers have taken the help of video conferencing to keep in touch with the farmers working in the field.

The need of the hour is to educate the farmers till a basic level so that they are able to understand the basic requirements for selecting the best things for farming. They should know what to buy and where to buy it from, and how to get the high yield in a minimum time. The agricultural institutes are providing information related to the best varieties of seeds and saplings by guiding the farmers with the latest methods through video conferencing set up at some of the village resource centers.

There are many countries like India, China, Australia, etc which are thriving on agriculture and it is the duty of the government to take initiative in promoting schemes to give the best tools which can help in getting the best crop yield. The weather plays a very major role in crop production and this cannot be controlled by us, but yes the right irrigation methods will help farmers to reap the fruit of their hard work. For example, there are many places in India where farmers are suffering due to draught or floods, they need the right guidance to deal with such tough weather conditions. The government has tried to reach these places through video conferencing, giving them the latest knowledge about better farming methods.

There are a number of projects started by the government for the farmers like exhibitions on farming tools and methods, classes on farming by agriculture development officers in different places, seminars and conferences on agriculture, but most of the farmers are not able to reach these places. The government and agriculture centers should adopt video conferencing to connect to the interior places and make the farmers aware of the facilities they can avail for free and enroll themselves in different schemes to gain the information.

The farmers around the world can share a common platform and can exchange information on different methods of farming. This can help in implementing the best way to get the profit out of the crop. This will surely help the farmers to progress towards a better tomorrow, paving the way for a green success for their respective countries. The video conferencing software will bring the farmers from different corners of the world under one roof, sharing their experiences of successful farming with all.

There are many service providers in the market today, whose solutions are excellent, but don't suit the budget for all business types. Some video conferencing solutions are built keeping in mind the budget of small to medium and large business organizations. Better to approach these providers.
