Success With Real Estate Postcards

February 18, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 169

There are many things that agents can do to bring attention to the properties they are selling or to their business. Real estate postcards are one of the easiest ways to bring attention to an agent. Although some agents don't think it is a worthwhile effort, using postcards in a direct mailing campaign can be highly successful.

Real estate postcards can be used for a number of different reasons. Some realtors use them to announce a new listing, a home they have just sold or even as a way to announce they are in the area. When these cards are sent, they are normally sent to specific people that may find their services useful. It is important for a realtor to have a campaign plan in place before mailing these postcards.

When a realtor decides to use a direct mailing approach, they should know who their prospect is. Many realtors make the mistake of using real estate postcards in a blanket approach. They create a postcard that is has one general message and mail it to everyone. This isn't successful because not everyone has the same situation. If a renter is sent a postcard advertising a home being sold, they will throw the card away and it's a waste of the agent's effort. It is extremely important to know the needs of the prospect before mailing a postcard.

Once the prospect's needs are known, realtors should create a custom real estate postcard that speaks to their needs. When a person receives a piece of mail that is directly related to something they need, they are more likely to read it and pay attention to it. This will increase the chances of the sending agent getting a positive response.

Agents also find themselves using a very general design and message for their real estate postcards. This is another mistake that selling agents make. When a prospect receives the multiple postcards in the mail and they look almost identical, there is nothing that will make them stop and pay attention to either. When an agent thinks about the different needs and campaigns they want to promote, they should create multiple campaigns and messages for their postcards.

Agents that use real estate postcards find there are distinct advantages of using them. In many instances, agents find that having a postcard made is less expensive than having full-page flyers created. When these postcards are mass-produced, even with multiple campaigns, they are still smaller and inexpensive to make.

Agents also find that real estate postcards are easily passed from one individual to another. Because these cards are smaller and sturdier than a flyer, if the recipient knows of someone that would be interested in what's being offered, they often pass the information along. Flyers are easily and quickly thrown aside.

Agents that put thought into their real estate postcards find they can get an excellent number of responses. These agents take their time and use eye-catching pictures and graphics so they stand out from the other pieces of mail. They also make sure they know their prospect's needs and customize their campaigns accordingly. When there is thought put into a direct mail campaign, the response can be more than an agent expects.
