Are Single Property Websites Worth the Effort and Expense?

Realtors face stiff competition due to low barriers to entry. Moreover, it's an attractive profession for many people. After all, you're self-employed and have the potential to earn a great living.

However, the stiff competition is hard to deal with. Therefore, realtors need all the advantages they can get.

One way to out-do the competition, at least for listing agents, is to offer clients the single property website for property promotion.

What Are Single Property Websites?

Single, or individual property sites are websites that feature one home.

Most realtors place home listings on their website; few actually build dedicated websites for each home.

Not only can these types of sites help sell a home, but it can also be a great sales tool for landing new clients. After all, it comes across as impressive that you'll build an entire website for a client's home.

Not Just for Large Developments

Until recently, only large developments such as a high rise of condos or commercial space got its own website for promotion.

However, these days more and more realtors are building individual property websites for every home they list (and not just the expensive homes).

Are these websites worth the effort and expense?

In my view they are for 3 reasons:

1. They serve the client. 2. They distinguish your level of service. 3. They're inexpensive and relatively fast to launch with the latest website technology.

Back when websites were individually coded, it was cost-prohibitive to build a site for each listing. However, now with WordPress and other website building platforms, building single property websites is both inexpensive and fast.

How are Single Property Websites Built?

There are many ways to build sites dedicated to one home. 2 viable options are:

1. WordPress with a real estate theme; and 2. Individual home listing website services.

Both options work. Both are relatively inexpensive (relative to the potential commission). Both are fast to launch a new listing.

Think About It

With each home you list having its own website and URL, you can promote that website extensively. For example, you can create web pages on the site to extensively feature each room and the outdoor space. Instead of using one web page to feature an entire listing, you can dedicate 10 or more web pages to extensively feature a home.

The potential for single property websites is unlimited given how easy it is to add images and video to most website building platforms.
