Online Book Publishing Is Easy To Do

February 22, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 156

Online book publishing is so much easier today than it was just a few short years ago. You no longer need an agent or a publisher to publish your book. You have complete control over where it is published and how.

eBooks are taking the internet by storm now. With the advent of eReaders and smart phones, people are clamoring to buy eBooks more than ever before. This is a hot time to jump in and publish your own book.

Below are descriptions of a couple of different ways to publish online. There is absolutely no reason why you can't publish through all three means if you're so inclined.

CreateSpace is Amazon's answer to print on demand books for self-published authors. Unlike traditional publishing, an author can upload their book to Amazon and it can be available within minutes to the public to purchase as a printed book.

Instead of waiting for the quarterly or yearly royalty checks to arrive, Amazon happily pays monthly via a check mailed or direct deposit to your bank account on the books sold that month (as long as it is over $10 USD).

The author is in complete control over marketing the book, making sure people can see it. It gives you, the author, more control over the entire publishing process than ever before.

When Amazon rolled Kindle out a few years ago, they had no idea of the impact this would have on the book-publishing world. For one, a Kindle is an eReader that people purchase, then purchase eBooks to read. People are going nuts for these, and eBooks are selling like crazy these days, in the millions.

This is good news for self-published authors. You can take your book, upload it to Kindle (free of charge!), and offer it in the Amazon Kindle library. It has the potential to reach literally millions of readers. Again, marketing is up to the author, but being available on Kindle, puts you in the hands of anyone with a Kindle eReader.

Ebooks are very popular, even if you do not own an eReader. Anyone can download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and read a.pdf file (which is the file that makes up the eBook.) All you have to do is compose your book, make a nice eCover, and convert it to a.pdf.

Then you can place it on your website, or through affiliate programs such as ClickBank or eJunkie, and sell them. This is easy to do if you can create words that people want to read, can edit it to shine, and make it free of grammar and spelling errors.
