Belief Is the First Step To Induce Lucid Dreaming

April 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 100

How to induce lucid dreaming is a question that I get asked commonly. People want to know how to lucid dream for many different reasons - to help them visualize and attract things into their lives, out of simple curiosity, to heal a past hurt or physical ailment or simply for the challenge of being able to control your own dreams. So naturally people look online and find articles all over the internet with 'simple' step by step directions on how to do it. Others will go to the extreme of buying expensive machinery to induce lucid dreams only to try it and then and complain that it does not work as promised. The problem is that most people forget the very important first 2 steps of mental preparation.

I know this may sound simple, but you must have a strong intent and desire to have the lucid dreams. They are not easy to come by and the people that have the quickest and most frequent success with it are the ones that have a strong intention to create them. Curiosity is not enough, neither is trying it for one or two nights. You must be committed and have decided that your dreams, their meanings, remembering them and being able to consciously create them is important to you. Only once you have made this commitment to yourself can you begin to attract the energy and information you need to help you on your journey towards inducing your own lucid dreams.

Another problem frequently faced by people trying to induce lucid dreaming is that they are not prepared for their dream. I ask them what they plan to dream about and they have no answer for me. The purpose of inducing lucid dreaming is so that you can create the dream yourself - it is not a normal dream that can be influenced by outside events in your life or problems you are having at home or stressors you are facing at work - it is something that you are creating with the power of your own mind - so in order to do so you must have a plan in place. It is best to have a goal that you write down before you try to induce the dream. Plan the goal carefully on a piece of paper that you leave beside your bed or under your pillow. Start with a simple goal, like being able to jump over a car in your dream or riding a horse down a beach, then as you start to have success with these smaller goals, you can plan out more detailed dreams and eventually get them to last longer and be more intricate.

I know these are 2 simple steps, but they are a vital part of the process and must be completed before you start your journey towards inducing lucid dreaming. First, make sure that it is something you are fully committed to doing. Second, prepare by outlining a clear plan written down on paper for what you plan to accomplish while inducing your lucid dream. Good luck and sweet dreams!
