Shift Your Thoughts, Change Your Life

I am sure you have heard it many times before. Change your attitude, change your life. What is great about this saying is it is true. If your someone going around feeling defeated subconsciously, then you are already defeated. Pretty much anything you try to do you will end up sabotaging it. You may not plan to sabotage what you are doing, but you will. The reason is right away you are thinking this is never going to work. Your subconscious mind is already programmed to fail. What you say during Self Talk can be difference when it comes accomplishing your goals or not. Self Talk is the conversation that goes on inside your head throughout the day. This starts from the moment you rise in the morning. If you start believing that the day is going to be a great day chances are this is going to happen. On the other side of the coin, if you say the day is horrible then chances are it will be horrible. Our Self Talk is very powerful and if used in a positive manner will bring great rewards.

Let's say your goal is to lose 25 pounds in 6 months. This is definitely an attainable goal so you would be off to a good start. If you told me you wanted to lose 100 lbs in 6 months that would be less realistic. Always remember to keep achievable goals in mind. If you were really serious about achieving this goal you would write it down and make a commitment to it. Now what exactly would you write? Like most people it would probably go something like this. I want to lose 25 lbs in 6 months. You might write down the date just to really clarify when you want to achieve this goal and add how you plan on achieving it. Looking at what was written down, it does not look bad. The goal is stated, and there is a time when it is to be achieved and how it is to be done. Then what exactly is the problem? The problem is the language being used. Mainly the I Want part of it. When you say you want something it is telling yourself I don't have it, but one day I want it. Most likely you are going to be wanting lose that 25 lbs for many years to no avail. Instead of saying you want something, try saying that you have already lost that 25 lbs. Lets say you weigh 175 lbs and you want to weigh 150 lbs. Instead of saying I want, say this; I am fit and healthy weighing 150 lbs. It is very important that you affirm exactly what you want because that is what your subconscious mind will bring you. Put the value on the present not the future and you will be achieving your goals because that is what you have programmed your mind to do. It is good practice to write down your affirmations until they become ingrained in your mind and you don't even have to think about them anymore. Change your self talk today and start to accomplish your goals now.
