The Spirit's Gentle Whispers - Part 2

February 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 147

This, below, is the second part of a monthly series; a collection of ideas received from God and faithfully taken down.

Lies are a trap for the spiritually unwary/naïve. So many snares, like landmines, exist. Take care what you think on. Better still, direct and continually redirect your thinking.

Sow seeds of love in faith. Don't underestimate the value of small things said and done. Everyone has the motive and ability to reflect - it is spiritual osmosis. What you do may be repaid, which is always a nice surprise; though, repayment should never be expected.

Anyone setting out on a journey to disprove God is found, in themselves, a person running away from their very self. Yet, they'll have none of it.

Watch for the liar and do not follow their way. They speak and do for their personal gain only.

Stay in touch with loved ones. Prove no burden to them where you can.

Careful what you claim as "all my own" - God knows and won't hesitate to reveal it.

Be not rushed enough to warrant complaint, but busy enough to serve your God-anointed purpose.

Life shifts like a tide; not daily, perhaps, but high tide inevitably follows low, and vice versa. Don't feel too hopeless and don't get ahead of yourself, either.

Thinking about how good you have it - disregarding what's going wrong - is a wisdom activity honouring the truth.

As we look back we can tell one thing: WE'VE SURVIVED. We have lived to tell a tale or two.

In a world in love with social networking, there is coming a season where many will walk, disenchanted with the 'trappings' of such shallow interaction. (Social media will continue to transform itself as people continue to actively seek interpersonal intimacy through such media.)

Get efficient in doing the things that need to be done, in order to free up time and energy for the things that inspire.

Trust in the faithful; those proving worthy of such a fine office as trust. Be careful to respect them for their loyalty.

Control what can be; let graciously go of what can't-know and accept the difference.

We're never the first or only ones with "The Good Idea." Be open-minded and open-spirited with those of equal ingenuity.

Nothing changes after high school - it's just a different group of people. We are all children.

Are you confused? Are you confronted? Maybe you feel lost. You may well be learning! Life is the learning ground. Confusion, confrontation and feeling lost are surprisingly typical. Smiling in the thick of it; that's the key.

Don't fret over people's written reactions - it's not how they really feel.

It's not over 'til it's over. The end of anything - a project, a phase, a life - stands at an intimate distance.

A good prayer: Lord, reveal me for who I am, so I may learn about myself and where I am lacking, so I can become more like you - Amen.

On days etched in love, as all are, how can one pass up such salubrious opportunities?

PFD: prepare for death. Whatever is inevitable must be prepared for. Asking appropriate preparation questions will lead us in the appropriate direction.
