You Can't See Any Progress Even If You Work Out?

February 22, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 146

We need to talk about two different things. When you see progress, it means that you train, rest and eat right, and you have really good genes. If your diet and workout plan works, we see no reason for you to change it. But what if you don't see any progress?

There is a large category of people who aren't happy with their results.Usually beginners, who want to grow in a month, as they would do in a year and others that think that if you imitate the "big ones", a miracle will happen and will transform you overnight. We are talking about the category of people that do not see any progress. Naturally, the premises are that they train regularly, that they rest properly and eat right and take supplements.

Unfortunately, the lack of progress is caused by the fact that most people only lift weights - they don't train their muscles. Naturally, the muscles get some stimulus even so; even doing simple exercises like fat belly exercises will show some results if you do them regularly. However, what happens most times is that the stimulus for growth is given to other muscles, not the ones that are trained. Naturally, when this happens you shouldn't ask yourself why there's no progress: you're not working the right muscles!

What does it mean to "train the muscle?

Muscle training involves weights but using weights is only a way to contract the muscle you want, in the desired position against the resistance (weight). The only goal and the main goal is training the muscle - with disregard for the amount of weight that's being pushed, lifted or pulled.

In order to stimulate the muscle's adaptation aka to increase the muscle resistance and make it grow, you need to provide the muscle with the exact stimulus it needs to grow, without working it too hard or too frequent. Adaptation happens when you rest, not when you're working out. If there's no progress this is usually because the muscle is stressed too much by working out, and usually beyond its adaptation level; the muscle becomes exhausted and this leads to no progress!

So, keep this rule in mind: it doesn't matter how much weights you push/lift/pull or how many reps you do!It's important to get the results you want! Hence, you should take your time and train your muscles - don't simply lift weights!
