Achieving maximum muscle mass through diet and intense workouts is a goal that millions of people would like to accomplish. Though it may seem like an impossible feat to achieve, you may find it surprisingly easy after reading this. For starters, let's consider how muscle is actually built. As most of you already know muscle is built when it is forced to contract against a large amount of resistance (such as weightlifting) and small tears in the muscle fiber are created. These tears stimulate an acceleration of a process called muscle protein synthesis. This process uses amino acids and proteins to repair the torn fibers of the muscles when they are at rest.

The repair process known as muscle protein synthesis is active for up to a 48 hour time frame. This is why it is important to work each set of muscles in time lapses so that the torn muscle fibers have an opportunity to repair and grow. As muscle is built workouts using resistance training can be intensified as the muscles become stronger.

While it is important to understand how muscle is built, is equally important to understand that every individual is different and has specific needs that must be met in order to build muscle. An individuals maximum muscle mass potential will be determined by their gender, genetics, health, age, diet, and many other factors. It is wise to keep in mind that every human body has a limitation as to how much muscle weight it can possibly gain within its lifetime in the very most optimal setting.

The maximum amount of muscle that can be built naturally without stimulants will vary between male and female genders. Exactly how much muscle an individual can gain in their lifetime is difficult to correctly measure due to all of the factors needed for maximum muscle mass potential. Setting realistic goals according to all of the important factors is essential to avoid unrealistic expectations that can have a negative impact.

Another key factor in mass muscle building is diet. A well balanced diet needs to be combined with an increased calorie intake to assist the body with the nutrients needed to gain muscle in mass amounts. Having a firm understanding of nutrition and how many calories are needed will greatly help an individual meet and maintain their muscle growth goals.

One key aspect to diet that is quite possibly one of the most important components in muscle building is protein intake. When an appropriate calculation of increased calorie intake is established it is essential to include an abundance of daily protein intake through these extra calories. So basically a logical approach to Achieving Maximum Muscle Mass through Diet and Intense Workout can be accomplished through a well planned fitness regime and protein rich diet.
