How to Create Your Own Singing Style

April 16, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 121

We all wish to have a unique style, and when it comes to our career choices, we wish to enter a competitive field in which we excel all the while having a unique MO. Singing is one of those professions where developing a unique style is imperative to succeed. In order to develop a unique singing style, one has to understand vocal technique well and also about where a tone is produced from and how it resonates.

Resonation can be described as the point from which a tone is produced to the point where it softens and then gradually fades out. When you resonate using the right vocal method, air from your vocal chords travels to your mouth and the pitch is carried forward by sound waves. To resonate, you either talk from your throat which results in either a shrilly squeaky pitch in women or harsh shouting sort of tone in men. Or you kind of hum, when you hum you can feel a sort of tingle in your teeth and tongue; this makes the sound appear level, smooth and confident. The key to flawless singing is when you mix the tone with resonance. Try seaming the chest and head voice when you are required to sing low and high notes. This will result in a smooth transition with warm intonations.

If you only sing tones without resonating them, the result will be a displeasing sound that isn't very delightful to the ears. To develop a unique singing style, try finding the ideal pitch in which you are most comfortable. Practice that pitch to perfection with the right amount of tones mixed with resonance. Once you have achieved this, try practicing it regularly so that the result is a unique sound that people will identify you with. Once you are comfortable in that, then try mixing and matching your pitches whether low and high so that the songs you sing will be creative and unique all at the same time.

Try practicing keys from low to high as the higher you go, the more difficult it will get to get the perfect pitch. Remember to try singing from within your chest or head and not too much from your throat as throat singing causes damage to it, which could sometimes even be permanent. The more you practice, the more effortlessly you will sing. Also remember to practice regular breath control and good posturing as this will help in improving your sound quality without straining any of your chords and throat. The key to singing flawless and uniquely is to sing as if there is no effort required. Inflect your voice with force when required in a song, without actually doing so, the quality will be greatly improved.

To create unique singing styles that are unique and which people will associate only with you. To create singing styles which are unique is not easy and required practice and dedication. Read this article if you want to know more about how to understand more about vocal singing resonance.
