People should note that pencil drawing techniques and skills will be useless if you don't have the right equipment.

It is true that we often find so many spectacular scenes that usually inspire us to produce wonderful artworks. The world offers us its beauty and sometimes, we can't help but long to capture this beauty in our own ways.

Beginners can learn making a work of art by using pencils; this is the usual recommended medium for those who are just starting out. However, before attempting more advanced types of drawing like charcoal or graphite pencil, it is a must to be acquainted with the different types of pencils and tools available for blending purposes.

There are a number of factors that are to be considered by a beginner in order to make a good drawing. There are tools that are more appropriate for background, tools that may produce a smooth edge or a rough one. All these must be taken into account in order to improve your level of pencil drawing.

So here are some drawing equipments and a short description of where or when they are supposed to be use.

First, let's discuss the charcoal pencil. This tool basically retains an asymmetrical shape. It aids in giving a reflective appearance very similar to that of photographs. They can be used in providing an absorbing look to any drawing. It is highly useful in drawing hair, nostrils, and lashes or basically anything that requires casting shadows.

Next up, we also have what is called a graphite pencil. They basically give a thoughtful look to a drawing. It can be used for giving skin tone, making metals look shiny or any other object that needs a gleaming look.

Then, we have carbon pencils. They are used to add more taste to an image.

Lastly, there are also blending tools like chamois, stumps, or even tissues. They are basically used to provide the final touches to any image.

Each and every tool has its own purpose. If one uses a graphite pencil for shadow effects, then it will not be as finished-looking as compared to using a charcoal to get that same effect. At the same time, it wouldn't be advisable to use a charcoal to give a gleaming effect to your project! It is a must to understand the purpose of each tool. So, make sure to find time to figure out what all of your tools are meant to be used for.
