New Zealand's Most Spectacular Views

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 160

New Zealand is known for its views and the ones below are the most spectacular of them all. When you are on guided walking holidays, New Zealand can be a magical place if you just know where to go. If you walk your way to these incredible locations, you will see sights that will stay with you for the rest of your life.

Hicks Bay

Hicks Bay is the first of these most incredible views that you can see on guided walking holidays. New Zealand displays a panorama from Hicks Bay that is truly unforgettable. More specifically, you should look out from a location high above Hicks Bay. It is at this spot, before you head down into Te Araroa, that you can take in the full splendour of this area. After you have lingered a while and taken in the majesty of the scene, you can continue on to Te Araroa to lay your eyes on the biggest pohutukawa tree in the country, as well as the East Cape Lighthouse.

Sky Tower

The view from here is so impressive it is often considered to be the best cityscape to experience in the Southern Hemisphere. The glass-faced lift will transport you to a level that presides an incredible 1,076 ft over the city, to give you an unprecedented outlook of the world below. The 360-degree panorama will allow you to take in the beauty in all directions. There are even glass floors should you wish to test your mettle and to see what it is like to feel as if you are walking on air. For walking holidays, New Zealand isn't just about the countryside - don't forget her stunning cities too.

Nugget Point

This simple name belies that fact that the view from Nugget Point is nothing short of awe inspiring. To make it to the lookout here that will give you the fully realized perspective of the region may take hours, but you will be glad that you put the time into this endeavour. You will first be struck by the solitude and then by the patterns made by strewn kelp as far as your eye can see. Hundreds of penguins, seals, and seabirds will serve to complete this scene and remind you of all that the natural world has to offer.

Wellington's Kellburn Cable Car

It doesn't take that much of a stroll from the often crowded streets of the capital to see the incredible effect of the high-rises perfectly complementing the harbour. The sleek glass buildings and the idyllic harbour merge to create the kind of image usually found only on postcards. You can use the cable car to get to the Botanical Gardens and, once there, look towards the sea to see one of the city's prettiest pictures.

These are without a doubt the most spectacular views in the country that you can see on foot. If you're in the country on walking holidays, New Zealand doesn't get any better than this.
