Log Cabin Desires

February 23, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 152

A lifelong passion of mine ever since I was a little kid was to own and live in a log cabin when I got older. Many of the people I look up to live in log cabin style homes and that's where my desire for one started. My dad has always wanted a log cabin and when I moved out he saved up money and had a house built. I have never been into the finer things in life. I have always enjoyed looking at rustic older style things such as houses and farm land in the middle of no where, where everything is peaceful and you can walk outside to hear birds chirping.

My full passion is to own a log cabin, but not just any cabin. I want a two story cabin with an A frame roof. The house needs to be sitting on top of a hill overlooking a lake or a pond and the side of the house that is overlooking the water needs to be all glass. I want a trophy room inside the house, three bedrooms, and a computer/movie room. What I mean by trophy room is a room where I can put all of my trophy animals I have taken over the years also along with my belt buckles and saddles I have won throughout my rodeo career. I also want a pool right out back behind the house that is covered by a screened in porch.

All of my life I have ridden horses so I would like for the log cabin to have a walkway out the back that connects to a horse barn and covered arena. I want to own atleast one hundred acres for pasture that the horses can stay in and have some land to deer hunt on. At the entrance to the place I would like a big metal gate that opens automatically and has a paved driveway all the way to the house that wraps around the pond.

So as you can see, I basically have everything all planned out and know exactly what I want when the opportunity comes along. Having a log cabin is the only thing that has not changed since I was a little kid. Most young kids just have phases that they go through and trust me I have done that with many things, but not with this. I have always wanted a log cabin and always will.

Log Cabins display a rustic style that was used in the west on ranches and when many people had to build their own homes out of cut down trees. They are also not as expensive to build as most people think. Depending on how big of a cabin you want you can spend a lot less money then having a brick house built. The only downfall about owning a log cabin is that the insulation is a little different than regular homes so your light bill might be a little bit more expensive, but in the end it would be worth it because you would've paid less for the house. Depending on the life style you live and how much money you are willing to spend I think that Log Cabins are the way to go, especially if you live on a farm.
