Be a leader who trains a leader

Multi level marketing (MLM) or Network Marketing (NWM) can only sustain with a strong foundation. Just like building a house, we need to build a strong foundation on the ground for the house to stand. No matter how strong the house is, if the ground is weak the house could be blown away by a very strong wind or storm. Hence, we need to build a very strong front line in MLM and slowly work down the line.

Once we have a new distributor, we should give them our support in terms of training or prospecting. However, we do not necessarily do all the work for them. Remember the gist of MLM is to duplicate yourself many times more. If we do all the work for them, we might end up as their worker suffering instead. What we can do is maybe for a start we could be the one who do the prospecting for them while they take down some pointers on a notepad or a piece of paper.

Next, it will be their turn to do the prospecting. Just let them carry on although in the process they will commit mistakes here and there. We just need them to gain their confidence first. Lastly, we will sit down with them and praise them for their courage and confidence. After which we will discuss on how to improve their speech further.

Continue prospecting and remember to duplicate. Do not be dismayed by rejections. Once your front line stabilized, continue to monitor their progress. Take note of those who are under performing. Find out about their problems. There again you have just repaired a broken window of a house built on a strong ground.

Do not take rejections personally or seriously

A new distributor must have this implanted in their mind. A "no thank you" is not a personal rebuff. A waitress pouring coffee in a coffee shop might be told this right on their face, "no thanks","no more for now" or "maybe later". Some could even say this, " I don't like coffee". But none of these remarks send her running to the ladies crying and flooding with tears just because most of her customers rejected her.

Yet that is comparable to what happens to a new distributor. By accepting more and more "No" will finally brings you to another person who will finally say "Yes". Rejections are painful but the joy of getting a single yes after many no is simply rewarding.
