10 Easy Steps to Generating More Leads and Increase Website Conversions

Internet marketing can be offline or online. The best way to increase market coverage, however, is to open your business up to the internet. This can scare a lot of seasoned marketers as the internet poses a whole new challenge. There are skill demands which can put a lot of pressure on people and can totally put them off the idea of online marketing.

This does not have to be the case.

Another issue with using online marketing is it can involve using less face to face to sales conversations which can create issues with trust. Email marketing is fantastic but nothing can beat a phone conversation or a personal video.

The internet can increase the number of leads massively if leveraged properly. Let me explain.

The most basic way to generate leads on the internet is to create web presence and this is usually done with a website. To make this an effective starting point, traffic generation, which is people landing on your page, is the first big challenge for any online marketer. People will find the page and on there will be an opt-in form which will capture a name and email for that person. This will create an ever increasing list of cold leads. The number of people who land on the page and fill in the form is known as conversions.

Below are ten simple steps to increase the chances of success when creating a web presence, and with an average of 6 billion users on the internet each day then increasing your web presence properly is massively important. Each step must be followed and become a habit.

The first step concerns the web site itself. This must be a simple layout, clean and fast loading. This would mean the minimum number of plug-ins needed to run an effective site. The information must be delivered properly and easy for the reader to access.

Next avoid links to unnecessary pages and avoid using distractions such as flash images. These will only distract the visitor from what you want them to read

Use attention grabbing headlines, the first few seconds will decide whether that visitor reads on or leaves the page. If they do not stay then they will not opt-in.

For the opt-in make it simple and easy to find. Make it clear which information they need to enter. People like quick surfing and quick forms to fill In, too much detail and they will probably get bored.

Always have something on offer when the prospect opts-in. Make it clear what this is and how it meets certain needs. They have found the site with keywords when searching; make sure you make it clear you have what they need.

Always over deliver on the bonuses, people love free stuff so make sure they know that they get a whole bunch of stuff for opting in and trusting you with their details.

Make it clear to the visitor that you respect their privacy and that you practise a no-spam policy. People hate spam in their mail and will quickly leave your list.

How many people land and convert is more important than traffic volume alone. You could have 1000's of visitors but if they are not converting then something is wrong.

Test different versions of your page until something clicks

Finally, once you have opt-ins, then building relationships with these people will be fundamental to success. Of course you're in business, but people want to know who they are buying off and the trust generated will only happen with honesty and transparency.
