Best Hitch Mount Bike Rack for the Average Joe

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 167

When I first started researching hitch mount bike racks, I was amazed by the amount of options available. There is a little too much choice for the average guy or gal who just wants to transport their mountain bike onto the trails. What kind of bike rack you need will depend on how many bicycles you are going to transport, what kind of bicycle frame you have, the type of car you use and the quality of the bike rack you'd like to own.

For the average Joe or Jane who wants to transport one or two bicycles, a good all around rack is the Swagman XC Cross Country 2-Bike Hitch Mount Rack. Here is my opinion on the reasons it is so popular.

1. Great Value For Your Money

Avoid the cheap bike racks unless you really have no choice. They will likely be wobbly, need a lot of work and time to attach it to your car, and you probably won't trust it to hold up your bike (which defeats the whole purpose of owning a bike rack).

The super expensive will be good quality (at least they better be). From the reviews I saw surrounding the more expensive styles of racks, I didn't find anything better than the reviews surrounding this Swagman module. You're getting a really good bike rack with the XC Cross Country without coughing up over-the-top-expenses. This is probably the #1 reason why this rack does so well in the market.

2. Solid and Simple

This rack is solid and will hold your bike up well. It is easy to set up and simple to attach and detach your bicycle. What more would we want?

3. Easily Adjustable, Both On and Off the Hitch

You can take it off the hitch, fold it up and store it away in your car when you are off riding. Very convenient. When attached to your hitch, it allows you to easily access the rear of your vehicle without having to take it off.

Best of all, it has a ratchet arm that you can adjust to support different style and sizes of bikes.

4. Many Strong Positive Reviews

It is easy to tell if a product works well by the other reviewers out there. Look for products that consistently have rave reviews and you can't go wrong. Swagman XC Cross Country holds up extremely well in his area.
