Are We Spotting Apple's Rhythm Yet?

February 20, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 169

There is literally no question now that Apple totally revolutionised the mobile communications market with the launch of their iPhone way back in 2007.

Okay, we all thought that was a one-off. At least, for a while. What could possibly be better? Glass touch screen. Huge LCD display. A miniature computer in your hands. Oh, and you could call people on it, too. But, no less than a year later, BANG, they'd done it again. This time, it was faster, lighter, sleeker. The iPhone 3G was born. Internet browsing was lightning quick, the camera was pretty sharp, and it looked even sexier. As Apple said it themselves, it was the best iPhone yet. They'd revolutionised a revolution!

Then it slowed down. Eagerly, the whole world watched as the next year, another new iPhone was due to be launched. What was going to happen this time? Will it talk? Think for itself? Cook your dinner? Well, actually, not quite. For this year, that little annoying "S" appeared for the first time with the 3GS. It looked exactly the same, felt exactly the same and operated... exactly the same. Alright, it was a bit faster. And they'd stuck an extra megapixel on the camera, which was in fact lagging behind its competition. "What were they thinking?", we wondered. "I've waited a year for this thing!". But we had faith, we waited patiently - for good things (usually) come to those who do.

And we weren't disappointed. By 2010, Apple had pulled it outta the bag yet again with the launch of the iPhone 4. And boy, did we like it. Had Apple got it from space? All glass... and it was so thin! How did they fit it all in there? The HD display didn't go unnoticed, either, unlike the pixels on it! The only gripe seemed to be how easily it cracked, and being all glass, it really wasn't hard to make it happen. An influx of iPhone screen repair services sprung up to help those in need. People who drooled, but couldn't afford, were buying iPhones and sending them to iPhone refurbishment companies. Apple had, and still has, us in the palm of its hand. We simply can't stop using their products. And that ain't a bad thing - they're awesome, aren't they?

But, wait... What's that? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's that annoying "S" again! Yes, in late 2011 (and yes, it was late, much to the annoyance of Apple fans everywhere), the iPhone 4S appeared. The "S" bug had struck again. It looked the same, felt the same, it was pretty much the same! Okay okay, a bit faster. The camera was a bit better. It had a bit of a voice recognition app on it. But, come on. Admit it. We were all hoping for something amazing!

Here's to the iPhone 5, or iPhone 4SS...
