Mobile Marketing For Different Businesses - How To Take The Lead

March 27, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 119

Many business owners think that mobile marketing is for big corporations only. Some have never stopped to think how they can explode their sales using this technology that is the most prevalent. It does not have to be that way. In fact, mobile marketing can be used by any business, small or big, operating in any industry. Let me share some tips with you that can help you take the lead in your niche or local area.

A report by Forrester Research shows that as much as 45% of retail traffic is accessed through iPads. That means that if you are in a restaurant business, there is a lot of untapped business with this technology. You can take the lead by having a mobile website that is smartphone friendly. You can immediately start to give away mobile coupons to entice diners to flock your facilities. You can hold mobile contests where winners get free meals for of their choice. In short, you need to actively engage your customers, especially the local ones that use mobile devices. It is cheaper, faster, and more convenient using this method than doing it with the traditional ways.

Whether you own a small daycare with 20 children or a large school with thousands of students, you will find mobile marketing crucial in your marketing and management. If there is an emergency, all it takes is to send text messages to parents and within minutes the students will be evacuated. If you operate a college, you can post assignments online followed by a text message informing the students of the same. If you want to expand, you can send the current parents text massages informing them of a special offer for new parents and requesting them to forward the same to other parents. No one can do better marketing than your current customers.

Retail stores.

Nowhere can mobile marketing work better than stores. Why?Because most people are wired to do shopping. And if you can let your loyal customers opt in, then you can give them points every time they shop. You can send them alerts on price discounts or when a hot item arrives in stores.

In addition, you can have items in stores have readable tags that smart phones can read. Once a phone scans the item tag, the user can know a brief history of the item, colors available, sizes in stock and the prices. It makes shopping really cool.

You can take the lead by incorporating mobile marketing in a clinic. This can send alerts to patients about impeding appointments. It can remind patients about prescriptions or inform them about any special offers available. A subdued healthcare clinic can suddenly become the talk of town if it applies these strategies properly.

In conclusion, mobile marketing can be used anywhere any time. It is not expensive to implement. And considering that fact that an average text message is read within four minutes of receipt and that open rates are as high as 97%, then it makes this form of marketing one of the best to use.
