Best Practices for Keeping Your Text Mobile Marketing Subscribers Interested

June 27, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 141

For many, getting mobile subscribers isn't the hard part. It is keeping them and keeping them engaged, active, and interested in your services or products. I have provided below some of the best practices for keeping your followers subscribed, and most importantly, eager to hear from you and your business.

  1. Give Them Value: Your subscribers are looking for continuous value. If you offer a "Buy One Get One" deal, you are likely to attract some attention, but if you use your mobile marketing just to talk about how delicious your lunch specials are, you will probably lose subscribers quickly.
  2. Don't Over-Communicate: No one wants to hear from you hourly, (or worse). Pick a good schedule for text messages. Then keep the messages simple and put "details" if needed, on a website or blog where they can get the terms and conditions, full description, or buy the product or service with an easy click-thru.
  3. Keep it Professional: Everyone has a personal life, but your business subscribers signed up to get business-related notices, deals, or news, keep the messages professional. (Your business subscribers are not interested in what your beautiful daughter or son did today at school.)
  4. Stay on Message: Your subscribers signed up because you offered them something they wanted. Stick to that! If you need to, separate your lists into, say, "Senior Citizens," "Families," "Children," or any other categories that are appropriate for your industry. Then customize the texts for each group. This is better than blanket-messaging all your subscribers with a message on a topic they would not be interested in, or which may turn them off your business entirely. (Remember, you want to keep your subscribers, not chase them away.)
  5. Make it Fun: Mobile Text Marketing can be a lot of fun and your subscribers will stick with you longer if you are offering them something fun, exciting, interesting, or peaks their interest in some way. Are your texts funny? Are you offering a not-to-be-missed special deal? Figure out how to appeal to your customer base in a fun and exciting way., and you will keep your subscribers and you will grow your list!

Follow these mobile marketing best practices and you will surely reap the benefits of this cost-effective and growing marketing practice. The trick to all successful marketing is giving the right people what they want; when they want it-and mobile marketing can certainly give your business that edge!
