The Difference Between The Nokia Lumia 900 And The 800

April 19, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 165

If you're interested in Nokia's Windows Phone-powered Lumia lineup, their model lineup must be confusing. They first launched the 800 and now they have the high-end 900. So what's the difference between the two? Let's find out.

When it comes to processing power both phones come with 1.4 GHz single-core processors under the hood. Although they both sport chips with similar clock speeds, they are different models. The company's first WP handset sports a 1.4 GHz Scorpion Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset. Their top of the line model sports a 1.4 GHz Scorpion Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon chipset. Both chipsets come with Adreno 205 graphics processing units for better graphics when playing games or running high-definition videos. Both phones come with 512 MB of RAM. This will add more to the phone's performance when running apps and other tasks.

When it comes to internet speed, Nokia's first WP handset allows users to download at speeds of up to 14.4 mbps and upload at speeds of up to 5.76 mbps. Its high-end smartphone allows users to download at speeds of up to 42 mbps and upload at speeds of up to 5.76 mbps. Both smartphones also allows users to connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. They will both allow you to connect via public hotspots, office wireless networks, or home wireless networks.

Both the Nokia Lumia 900 and 800 sport 8 megapixel rear-facing cameras. Both cameras sport Carl Zeiss optics, dual-LED flash, autofocus, and geo-tagging. They can both record 720p (high-definition) videos at 30 frames per second. The Finnish firm's high-end handset comes with an additional 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. This secondary camera is ideal for capturing self portraits and conducting video calls. It can also record VGA-quality videos at 15 frames per second.

If you're looking for a bigger screen, the Nokia Lumia 900 comes with just this. Compared to the 800's 3.7 inch AMOLED display, Nokia's premium handset sports a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen that sports a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Both displays are protected by the extremely tough Corning Gorilla Glass. This tough glass protects the display from the usual unsightly scratches and unforeseen bumps.

When battery life is concerned, the 800's standard Li-Ion 1450mAh (BV-5JW) battery offers a stand-by time of up to 335 hours, talk time of over 9 hours, and music playback of up to 55 hours. The 900's standard Li-Ion 1830mAh (BP-6EW) battery offers a stand-by time of up to 300 hours, talk time of up to 7 hours, and up to 60 hours of music playback. These phones are built to last a long time.

Now that you know the difference between the Nokia Lumia 900 and the 800, you can now better decide which phone is right for you.
