HTC One X Joined by HTC One S

The latest range of HTC smart phones have been named the 'One' range with the HTC One X being released with contract deals in the UK yesterday and the new HTC One S launched today.

These are the top two models in the new series with the HTC One X being the flagship device and the One S a mid-range handset packing a punch, there is a further budget model on the way soon called the HTC One V which is set to appeal to those who want a functional, affordable smart phone.

The new One S model may be classed as mid-range but when it comes to specifications and features it is actually ahead of many of the top-end devices currently on offer, packing a fast dual core 1.5GHz processor it matches those of the previous flagship HTC Sensation as well as the new Sony Xperia S.

The main touch screen is a good-sized 4.3 inches which is the same size as the best-selling Samsung Galaxy S2 and features the same 8 mega pixel resolution camera capable of capturing 1080p full HD video clips but the HTC One S is a slimmer device at just 7.8mm thin which will appeal to many users.

Sporting the very latest Android 4.0 operating system known as 'Ice Cream Sandwich' the One S is one step ahead of the game with only the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and bigger brother HTC One X offering this new platform, this new instalment further improves battery management, adds in new features and makes for a smooth, faster user experience.

Comparing the new HTC One S to the One X shows that the manufacturer is right at the heart of new mobile technology, the new One X features the first ever quad-core processor for extra speed whilst in both models there is a new, dedicated imaging chip for great quality pictures and video, the manufacturer has even installed a new camera feature that allows the user to snap pictures whilst recording video.

Both new HTC One phones share the same resolution main and secondary cameras, operating system and user interface, the differences are in the hardware department and dimensions, the One X sports a larger 4.8 inch HD touch screen display and is thicker at 8.9mm.

The HTC One X is already available in both black and white colour schemes whilst the One S is only currently available in black with a metallic blue edition on the way soon, the black edition has now been released on T-Mobile deals in the UK with a free phone available to order from just £26 per month.

The HTC One X is obviously a little more expensive when it comes to ordering a free phone with the cheapest deals on Orange at £26 per month, the £5 extra per month may not sound like a lot more but when calculated over the 24 month minimum term contract period this equates to a full £120 extra.
