4 Essentials to Reduce Man Boobs

Man boobs are embarrassing for most men. Although man boobs are not considered a serious condition, it does have a medical name. Gynecomastia and that simply means woman's breast. If you are a man who has man boobs, know that this is a common scenario for men who have become less active. This excess fat around the chest area can be lost. The best way to lose man boobs is with the right food choices and performing certain exercises for man boobs.

How to Reduce Man Boobs

There is only one way to lose fat and it doesn't matter where it is on the body and that is you have to burn it off. This doesn't have to bring on thoughts of doing 10,000 push ups but you will need to control the intake of calories versus the amount of calories that you burn a day.


Without the commitment to become healthier and more active, your chances of getting rid of the man boobs are slim. Have an honest talk with yourself and come up with your "Why". Your why is what will keep you committed and when you feel like giving up you will need to refer back to your why every time. For instance, your "why" might be that you don't want to go out like your father or maybe your grandfather. On the other hand, maybe you just want to look and feel better about yourself. Your "why" is for you and it has to move you to act.


Take a sincere look at your present diet. If you are serious about getting rid of your man boobs, you must toss the processed, fatty, and sugary stuff. If it doesn't serve you best, it must go. Your goal is to replace these foods with high fiber, low fat and healthier alternatives.

  • Replace white pasta with whole wheat
  • Eat sweet yams instead of white potatoes
  • Commit to adding a daily serving of fruits and vegetables
  • Drink more water (at least 64 ounces a day)


Get the okay from your doctor before starting your exercise program. Start small and work your way into more vigorous exercises. Remember the idea is to burn more fat but you don't have to overdo it in the beginning.

Find activities that interest you enough to stick with it. Basketball, hiking, running, swimming and jumping rope are great examples of activities what will get your heart rate up.

Exercise for at least 60 minutes. This may seem like a lot. According to the American Council on Exercise, if you expect to see results than an hour session should be the goal. However, it doesn't have to be all in one setting. You can spread out your fat burning routine to at least 10 min intervals.
