ISSUES SURROUNDING THE MENOPAUSE

While looking out for indicators of the menopause, it is very important to be aware that menopause symptoms do often vary from person to person.

Normally this process starts in the mid to late forties though can for some begin early on occasions.

Causes for early menopause are varied, such as medical procedures which affect the bodily system like the removal of ovaries, chemotherapy for cancer, or due to very early failure of ovaries.

You as a result experience very early indications of menopause a lot prior to other women experience normal menopause symptoms.

Menopause signs remain the same in most cases of early menopause or normal menopause. Most commonly the early signs are hot flushes with substantial sweating in the middle of the evening.

Specific issues such as differences in lifestyle including diets, general health and well being all add to differing factors in the symptoms encountered.

The basic indicators that the menopause is on its way generally include the following:

LONGER MONTHLY PERIODS

For a woman that generally has short menstrual periods of 4 days, this could increase to significantly more. When this happens, it can be one of the indicators that she is approaching her menopause.

When you recognize that this is transpiring to you and also you are approaching your late 40s, there is absolutely nothing to fret about. This is just an inevitable fact of life.

HEAVIER MONTHLY PERIODS

Some women experience heavier monthly period movements than is normal.

If this is the case then there is probably nothing else wrong - particularly if the age is right.

SPOTTING

Some people find drops of blood when they are expecting to be menstruating, this could be a sign of menopause.

First, check if you are pregnant. If not, and this continues, it could be a signal that the menopause has started.

IRREGULAR MENSTRUAL PERIODS

Some people find that their periods become irregular when they are beginning the menopause.

LACK OF DESIRE OR PASSION FOR SEX

Many experience a loss of libido so this process can have an adverse effect on their sex lives which of course can have other knock on effects in relationships.

The prime reason for this is that part of the menopause process entails less estrogen production. With this comes dryness of the vagina so coupled with the lack of desire is a dryness and soreness during sex.

This can be mitigated by changes to diet and taking supplements which help the libido.
