Some Ways to Increase Your Brain Power

March 09, 2012 | Comments: 0 | Views: 111

The human brain is a true biological marvel. It has capabilities that are far superior to those of any other living creature. But, our brains need exercise and a bit of maintenance in order to work at their optimum level. There are several, very easy things that one can do to increase brain power.

First, eat a healthy diet. Include more fruits and vegetables and make sure to consume brain-friendly foods. Include things like wild salmon, blueberries, almonds, acai berries, dark green leafy vegetables, avocados and sunflower seeds. Along with diet should come a good healthy work out three or four times a week. People that workout tend to have a stronger circulatory system which carries those important nutrients throughout the body. Feeding our bodies well is a good first step in increasing brain power.

Next, meditate each and every day. Make this a form of relaxation and mind exercise a part of your daily routine. Learn to meditate properly, do not just assume you know the techniques; it is not simply sitting still and thinking. People who meditate regularly tend to have better memories and therefore have increased mind power.

Use your imagination, be creative. It is especially good to imagine positive outcomes. Imagining things that are good and happy and positive can only help to point the brain in a positive direction. An overall good attitude means that one feels positive and strong and this in turn leads to a healthier mind. Using easy tactics to increase brain power has never been easier than just thinking good thoughts.

Have a daily routine, go to bed at the same time every night, and get up at the same time every day. An occasional sleep in on the weekends will not hurt, but a routine makes for a healthy body which in turn makes the mind much healthier. Not being so tired means not being forgetful and that means more brain power. A rested mind simply works more effectively.

Play games and solve puzzles, especially hard ones. Figuring out a hard crossword puzzle or some Sudoku puzzles will train the brain to focus and solve problems. A few minutes of a video game a day can also hope to bring the mind back into focus. It is vitally important that this be done with regularity if it is to have a positive effect. This is one of the easiest and most fun ways to increase brain power

As one can clearly see, it is not hard to increase mind power but rather it is a god bit of fun and many of the steps that can be taken are bound to benefit good health overall.
